Guillermo Scott Herren Albums!

Guillermo Scott Herren is a music producer and artist, who has been based out of Atlanta, Barcelona and New York. Herren releases music under various aliases, most notably Prefuse 73, Savath y Savalas, Diamond Watch Wrists, Delarosa and Asora and Piano Overlord.

Guillermo Scott Herren was born in Miami, Florida and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. His father is Catalan and his mother is Irish/Cuban. At an early age his parents encouraged him to play piano and other instruments; his mother “forced” Herren to play a wide variety of instruments, even going so far as to teach him the Suzuki Method, in order to “keep him out of trouble”. Growing up, Herren’s musical tastes branched out, and he became interested in hip-hop, punk rock, and electronic music.

CunninLynguists Albums!

CunninLynguists are a hip hop trio from Lexington, Kentucky. The group currently consists of Deacon The Villain, Kno, and Natti.

Their debut LP, Will Rap for Food, was released in October 2001. Their second LP, SouthernUnderground, was independently released April 1, 2003 on Freshchest Records. Guests included Masta Ace, Supastition and others, with production from Domingo, RJD2 and Kno.

The group landed a distribution contract with Caroline Distribution in 2004, and Southernunderground was the first project re-released after inking the deal with Will Rap For Food being re-released shortly thereafter in 2005.

The group toured throughout the U.S., Canada in 2003, 2004 and 2005, appearing onstage alongside acts like Nappy Roots, Cee-Lo Green of Goodie Mob and touring extensively with People Under the Stairs, Raekwon of Wu-Tang Clan and Brand Nubian.

CunninLynguists released their third LP, A Piece of Strange, worldwide on January 24, 2006 via Caroline Records and Groove Attack Distribution. It featured guest spots from Cee-Lo Green, Immortal Technique and Tonedeff and is entirely produced by Kno. The release of A Piece of Strange saw the profile for the group rise, as they toured abroad multiple times^[1] in support of the release appearing live alongside such acts as Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, The Strokes and more.

CunninLynguists released their fourth LP, Dirty Acres on November 27, 2007 through a joint venture between their own label APOS Music and Swedish-based label Bad Taste Records. It features artists such as Devin the Dude, Phonte of Little Brother and Witchdoctor. CunninLynguists made their way across the United States, Europe and Canada in support of the album, headlining the Dirty Acres Tour in 3 parts over the course of 2008.

CunninLynguists have been covered in various media outlets including The Source, URB Magazine, Spin, XLR8R, Import Tuner, and The Onion. Their name is a play on the words cunnilingus, cunning, and linguistics.

Eyedea & Abilities, originally known as Sixth Sense, is an American rap duo. Eyedea who also performs under the name Oliver Hart and with freestyle group Face Candy, became widely known because of his battle and freestyle skills. Eyedea is best known for his victory at the Blaze Battle, which was aired on HBO, showing some of the best underground battlers in action. Eyedea originally toured with Slug and other Rhymesayers crew. He made the jump from a battle emcee with the release of his first album First Born by joining forces with DJ Abilities. Fat Jon the Ample Soul Physician (born on August 8th, 1969 as John Marshall) is an American hip hop producer from Cincinnati, Ohio and one of the four members of Five Deez, alongside Pase Rock, Sonic, and Kyle David. He is also credited with some of the music in the anime series Samurai Champloo. Unorthodox producer/rapper Fat Jon is not only the beat-maker for the underground hip-hop collective Five Deez but a member of the 3582 crew and a solo artist with a string of albums that flirt with electronica, downtempo, and dub sounds. Sometimes credited as Fat Jon the Ample Soul Physician, Jon started out as a rapper in his native Cincinnati. There weren’t many beat-makers on the local scene, so Jon learned how to make his own, working with a set of analog equipment that fit perfectly with his old school-loving, throwback style. US DJ and musician Mark Farina was born in Chicago in 1969. Farina started as a DJ, coming up at the same time as Derrick Carter with whom he would later work. His reputation as a DJ grew until he was headlining the Om Records global tour on the strength of the first of his Mushroom Jazz albums. Brand New Heavies – Heavy Rhyme Experience Vol.1

“Brand New Heavies play the shit that/People used to listen to in ’70s Chevys.” With that succinct and flawless couplet from the awesome opening track, “Bonafide Funk,” Large Professor helped to explain why there was a certain herd of influential rappers who were enthralled by the Brand New Heavies’ sleek (some would say slick) and urbanely stylish Anglo take on classic American funk and soul after the quartet released its eponymous debut in 1991: They were pulling the very same vintage-groove LPs from their crates for inspiration. When the Heavies made their first trip to American shores, both Q-Tip and 3rd Bass’ MC Serch were quick to show their respect by hopping on-stage with the band (likely the event that planted the seed for Heavy Rhyme Experience), and the latter rapper even predicted that The Brand New Heavies would be the source material for a decade’s worth of loops and samples for rap producers. Serch’s enthusiastic forecast never quite materialized, but it is hard to argue with his logic after you hear this landmark collaborative experiment. A live hip-hop band wasn’t a complete novelty at the time — proto-rapper Gil Scott-Heron utilized jazz backing, Tackhead was the house band for Sugarhill Records all the way back in the late ’70s, and the self-proclaimed “world’s one and only hip-hop band,” Stetsasonic had been fully live for several years by that point — but never before had rap taken such an on-the-fly, jam-like approach. Spontaneous combustion resulted. Never before (and perhaps never since) had the Heavies managed to sound this deliciously in-the-pocket and playful, and the MCs beautifully follow their lead. Guru sounds looser and more whimsical on “It’s Gettin Hectic” than on any Gang Starr track. Simon Bartholomew’s teasing guitar lines poke holes in Grand Puba’s swollen-tongued bluster on “Who Makes the Loot?” Kool G. Rap is given the blaxploitation backing he had always deserved. And Ed. O.G. and Pharcyde do verbal gymnastics that must be heard. But every vocalist here blooms from the pairing. The only regret is that N’Dea Davenport was not included in some capacity, considering how much she added to the Heavies. Too bad, as well, that there was never a volume two. One wonders what sort of magic Posdnuos and Trugoy of De La Soul, the Leaders of the New School trio, Rakim, or Chuck D. could have conjured had they been tapped as collaborators, or from the West Coast Ice Cube and Del tha Funkee Homosapien. Still, Heavy Rhyme Experience, Vol. 1 is a match made in heaven.
